There will be a "Save Our Children" march in downtown Columbus. This may spark some controversy in the area. , so please stay vigilant.
Below is the description from the group planning the march.
"The Save Our Children rally is a little over 24 hours away. That being said I’d like to address a few things.❌The event is not being cancelled but it is your right to be made aware so that you can decide what’s in your best interest.
Threat Level. With recent national situations involving violence, the potential for there to be violence in Columbus, Ohio this weekend has increased. There are a few rumors and it has been advised it may not be a good idea to be downtown.
I'm asking all of you to be prepared in the event that something were to transpire. This is a huge cause with sadly a lot of controversy surrounding it. I can’t even believe we live in a time where it has to be advised that there could even be violence at a rally like this.
If you do still choose to go please to not bring children.
Do not bring those who are not able-bodied, those who are unable to flee or defend themselves.
Please do not attend alone if you can help it.
Do not go if your intentions are anything other than peaceful.
Be mindful of your surroundings at all times.
Do not engage with counter protestors (in the event that there are any).
Defend yourself when and if necessary, but do not incite violence or conflict.
If something were to happen and the State Troopers (stationed at the Statehouse) or CPD formally instruct us to disperse... leave.
This was planned as a peaceful rally to raise awareness as a lot has gone into it, while I hope that’s the case, there’s a possibility that it may not be. 🖤
