Best Practices

Hello AmCon Ohio

I wanted to share some best practices with this group. We know that there will be some trying times coming up around the election per American Contingency, that is why we are all here, right?

How prepared are you to protect and serve yourselves, your family and you communities? There are some basic things you could be doing now that can impact your tomorrow.

1. Have supplies - canned food, water, alternative power.

2. Medical skills and supplies - tourniquets, bandages, scissors, gauze, antibiotics, medications. Learn how to stop a bleed, etc.

3. Communication - Do you have a CB, HAM, GMRS, Walkie Talkie that you can communicate on? If not you should. At the basic a GMRS radio.

4. Land navigation - Learn how to use a compass, learn pace counts and how they can be valuable, buy maps of your area and surrounding areas, study them and leave them in your car(s) and bags.

5. Come up with contingency plans to get you or someone you love from point A to point B. This is very important because you may get a call from someone who is stuck in an area that is unfamiliar to them and they need to get out! How would you do it?

These are the majors that I think about every day. As a group YOU could help your neighbors or members in this group. Here are a couple things that would beneficial.

1. Post daily training challenges: How to tie knots, how to start fires with magnesium or a fire starter, how to use a GMRS radio, practice clearing your home, etc. Just one tip or challenge a day could change someones life.

2. Plan meetings with your friends or people you trust so you can learn more about each other. Put bug out bags together, ask them the questions about their contingency plans, share the above list with them, etc.

3. Reach out to other members and discuss skill sets!

4. Recruit! If you know someone who thinks along the same lines....invite them to be a part of YOUR first responder team.

These are some of the things that keep me up at night. Nothing changes if nothing changes.

If you have any questions, please reach out to me.

Thanks,
SkyWalker

Amcon Ohio, please read carefully.

I will NOT be shutting this page down and I will NOT be opening a Stripe account. What this means to you is, you may NOT be able to comment but you will be able to like, to see info and key things that could impact you daily, weekly or longer and it saves you a subscription.

I don't want to charge anyone for info. Here is the deal. I will continue to tap into my sources and post info as I get it. If you need to reach me, please tag me on the American Contingency page and we can interact there....if you have intel tag me on the American Contigency page and I will personally relay the info here with a link to that page an allow you to interact there and I will give you credit. If you are in Ohio and need guided to a certain area for training, etc I will do my best to put you in contact with someone who can help.

We will try this for now and if it doesn't work I have more options to try.

I recommend you plug in to https://americancontingency.locals.com/ if you haven't already.
